Wisdom Teeth in Kilmore

Wisdom teeth are our third molars – they commonly erupt at the back of the mouth between the ages of 18 and 21 but may be responsible for causing issues at any time before or after that.

We are well equipped to deal with any problems your wisdom teeth may be causing you. With our on site panoramic x-ray facility (OPG) we can have a same day x-ray so that we can determine the best course of action for you. The wisdom tooth x-ray is bulk billed through Medicare. Occasionally more detailed 3D imaging is also required which we are also able to carry out on site.

One of our general dentists will assess the OPG x-ray and sometimes treatment could be as simple as cleaning around the offending tooth and showing you how to rinse and brush around it to keep it clean as it erupts.

If it is determined that one or more wisdom teeth need to come out, the dentist will talk through with you what this would involve. Depending on the complexity of your individual situation you may see a general dentist for this procedure, our oral surgery registrar Aimee Liu or our oral and maxillofacial surgeon A/Prof Shiva Subramanian. Aimee and Shiva visit our clinic on a regular basis for consultations and they also provide treatment under general anaesthetic at Kilmore District Hospital. It’s the Kilmore Dental & Specialist Centre difference that all of this can be provided by our clinic and we look forward to helping you find the right solution for your wisdom teeth.
