Kilmore Dental & Specialist Centre was established in 2009 with the aim to provide general and specialist dental treatments in our regional location. Mr. Gerard Goodison had long serviced the area as a dental prosthetist and saw first hand the growing need for a new clinic. He wanted to replicate what you would traditionally find on Collins Street in Melbourne, a full service clinic without the need to send you away for more complicated or specialist treatments. One that would truly benefit the people of the region.
The premises were purpose built by a local builder and were designed with space in mind – treatment rooms large enough for a whole family to be able to visit together for their check ups. Our entire practice is wheelchair and pram friendly. High end equipment was placed into the practice in order to attract dental professionals of the highest quality. This has also translated to a welcoming environment for patients of all ages and we’d love for you to take a look too! We pride ourselves on providing good quality care and are focussed on growing our loyal patient base within the local community.
Within our practice, you can find a warm and friendly team of dental professionals, many of whom have now been practising at Kilmore Dental & Specialist Centre for over 10 years and have truly committed themselves to our community. The practice is still locally owned and operated and continues to invest in the latest treatment advancements and technologies. Friendly faces from our community can be found on the reception desk and as your chairside assistants and lab technicians, striving to make your visit an enjoyable one. With the more recent events of the covid pandemic, the original premise of the practice has become even more important to our community – the ability to deliver high quality and often specialised dental treatments as close to home as possible.
The Kilmore Dental & Specialist Centre team are a group of highly trained experts in general dentistry, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, specialist orthodontics, specialist and general oral surgery and denture prosthetics. We aim to exceed patients’ expectations by providing the highest level of customer service, complemented by the very best treatments.
Through the national accreditation process you can be sure that we meet the requirements of the stringent National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards. We are committed to continuous quality improvement and implementation of best practice systems and processes to enable patient safety and quality care at all times.
Answers to some of your frequently asked questions
Yes! Always let us know if you are pregnant as we will take extra precautions to ensure your care is safe for you and your baby. Pregnant women can be more at risk of dental issues during pregnancy such as decay from stomach acid caused by reflux and nausea and inflamed bleeding gums due to hormonal changes. Try and schedule at least one check up during your pregnancy with the 2nd trimester being the most ideal time. See more here.
A good rule of thumb is the time when your baby’s first tooth becomes visible or when they reach 12 months old – whichever comes first. This first visit can be as simple as your child sitting on your lap while we have a chat – we can teach good care techniques and answer any questions you may have. We’ll make it a fun trip to start to build a positive relationship with dental check ups. PDF fact sheet here.
